It is not, it does not work, and it made a very disappointing Christmas gift. This was listed as a Mac compatible web cam. I am trying to find someone who can use it, but it was a big waste of money.
for a webcam this is all i need.the picture is good at low light (i skype at night to europe) and the mic is clear.have only had positive reactions from the other side.don't be fooled it is just a 1.3 mp cam.but that does the trick for me.no glitches installed easily under Vista (amazing huh). worked fine for 4 months now.come with bs software don't bother to install.driver is enough
If your iffy about picture quality, then get the newest models out (with the highest resolution and megapixels) otherwise, this is good for you. Easy to use and set up. And if that's what you're looking for, go with this one. I'm satisfied with my purchase. It's nice and basic. Nothing fancy at a good cheap price. Comes with some fun editing options.
I am sitting here looking at the HP webcam while I type this. The webcam works fine for me.
The next time I boot up, I have to adjust them all over again. I haven't yet contacted HP about this. I use the Webcam Settings Window to adjust this and then click on Save Settings. When I start it up, the Hue and Brightness are always a little off. Picture quality is very good. This webcam was easy to install. Only Con for me is that I am unable to save webcam settings. They are saved until I shut down my computer.
